ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)---While the federal government shutdown continues, Americans who rely on federal assistance for food, will not be receiving those benefits at the end of this week.
The United States Department of Agriculture stating, “Senate Democrats have now voted 12 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance program (SNAP). Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 1.”
"Stop the shutdown," said Governor Kathy Hochul. "Stop taking away health care. Stop taking away food. Just start looking out for the American people."
