Jatin Singh, Founder and Chairman of Skymet Weather Services, believes artificial rain has limited potential in North India due to the region’s dry winter conditions and lack of rain-bearing clouds. He explained that while such experiments can sometimes “juice out a little bit of rain from the ambient moisture,” they are unlikely to produce significant results in the absence of strong cloud systems.

According to Singh, India’s latest cloud seeding attempts, including those around Delhi, should be viewed as early experiments rather than immediate solutions. He said it will take four to five years of repeated trials to truly determine whether cloud seeding can work effectively here.
