An ex-principal has hailed a new bargaining agreement on the table for Queensland teachers, calling it a "ten gold star deal".
The Crisafulli government says the three-year deal will see every classroom teacher in the state earning at least $100,000 a year, rising to $135,000 by the end of the agreement.
A new task force will be established to stamp out classroom violence, while there will be bonus payments for beginner and regional teachers, and a $100 per night payment for school trips.
"It demonstrates very clearly that the politicians of the day and the unions are sitting down and they're putting their teachers and their members first," former principal Tracy Tully told Today .
"Let's ring the bell, school is definitely in."
