Centre Stage announced Oct. 27 the three finalist plays have been selected for its 23rd annual New Play Festival.

Kicking off Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m., the festival will include performances of “Chrysalis” by Gwyneth Strope, “Love Language of Origin” by Michael P. Adams and “The Snallygaster” by Barry Wallace.

“Chrysalis” tells the story of Mirage, a woman faced with an unwanted pregnancy, who enters an illusive mind space to confront her own memories of childhood head-on. Along the way, she comes face-to-face with the past versions of herself she had fragmented years before.

“Love Language of Origin” starts as a quirky rivalry at an adult spelling bee turns into an unexpected romance between two word nerds navigating love, ego and ambition under the spotlight. As their viral fame grows, so
