The Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County was one of eight clubs nationwide awarded funding to expand its science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programming.

Timika Thrasher, the CEO of the local Boys and Girls Club, said in an interview that the club is slated to receive $100,000 over two years to purchase new materials for STEM education.
