Gabriela Birsan and her husband, Gustavo Garcia Gomez, wandered around downtown looking for their advance voting station Sunday evening with their 10-month-old daughter in tow. The couple had not yet received voter information cards for Montreal’s upcoming municipal election on Nov. 2, and Birsan could not find the information online about where to vote.

“The information was not very clear,” said the 51-year-old, who is among several Montrealers who experienced difficulties voting on Sunday.

She and Garcia Gomez had moved since the last municipal election, but she had updated their mailing address and confirmed they were on the electoral list. Having not received her voting card , she was not aware there was advance voting until late Sunday.
