STAMFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 12-year-old boy on Saturday.
According to investigators, the boy was riding a mini bike southbound near 316 Courtland Ave. around 8:47 p.m. alongside a family member who was on a scooter.
Both had pulled onto the shoulder of the road for unknown reasons when an unidentified vehicle struck the mini bike.
“As they were sitting on the side of the road, an, as of yet, unidentified vehicle struck the mini bike, causing the 12-year-old victim to be thrown from the mini bike and into the yard of a private residence,” police said.
The boy later died from his injuries.
A GoFundMe created by his family identified the victim as 12-year-old Brisly Reyes.
