Naperville Central basketball star Trinity Jones announced Monday that she has committed to Clemson.
Jones, a 6-foot-1 shooting guard who is ranked No. 9 in the class of 2026 by 247Sports, said she picked coach Shawn Poppie’s Tigers over LSU, Tennessee and UCLA.
“I chose Clemson because it was more a family fit for me,” Jones said. “I really like coach Poppie, and I got to know all the coaches there personally, and I just felt really comfortable there, and the playing style fits my playing style.
“They’re going to allow me to play versatile with structure at the same time, and I need a little bit of both. So it was a good fit.”
Jones is the second player in the history of the Naperville Central girls basketball program to commit to a team in a major conference, joining former Tenness
