GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) — The bridge along Ritters Mill Road in Temple Hill is back in service after months of flood-related setbacks.
Originally replaced with a box culvert bridge in September 2024, the structure has now been upgraded to improve durability.
Garland Gilliam, Barren County’s deputy judge/executive, said the improvements include six additional box culverts, extending the bridge by 72 feet, concrete wing walls on all four corners, and reinforced approaches on each bank with three feet of concrete embedded into the ground.

Workers also cleared a rock bar from the creek to widen water flow from bank to bank.
The bridge suffered damage from floods in January, February, and April, delaying its full reope
