BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Members of the community gathered to say their final farewells to former Warren County sheriff Jerry ‘Peanuts’ Gaines Monday.

Long-time public servant Jerry ‘Peanuts’ Gaines passed away at 88 years old in his home on Oct. 22.

For half a century, Gaines served the community, beginning as a Warren County magistrate and later spending 40 years as sheriff.

Warren County attorney Amy Chandler worked alongside Gaines for over 29 years and believes his influence extended across Kentucky.
