OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Daviess County leaders say that homelessness is a rising problem in the area, as well as drug additction.

They say the two often go hand in hand, but not always.

Leaders have put a one year pause on application acceptance for new group living centers, mainly geared towards rehab.

Those leaders, and directors of some rehab centers, say they have seen a discouraging trend at some locations.

Jordan Wilson, executive director of Friends of Sinners, spoke on those trends.

“There are programs that have been popping up with no accountability...sober living homes, things of that nature, where they allow their clients to run wild, and so I think that has been a big concern in our area,” Wilson stated.
