HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Jake Baker has been asked what he wants to be when he grows up, and at 15, he says he’s already living his dream.
“I dreamed of one day owning a Railroad Museum, but I never thought I would own a train this soon,” Baker said.
Baker has loved trains since he was little and wanted to grow up to be a train conductor. His dream became a reality in September when he was named as the city of Hurricane’s conductor.
In his position, he gives tours to visitors, teaching them about the history.
“I was honestly shocked. I was actually excited,” Baker said about being chosen for the role.
Baker stepped into the role that Bill Bartley held for years.
Bartley and Baker became fast friends over their shared love of trains.
