WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The U.S. is facing a shortage of aircraft mechanics. Kirsten Regan, executive director of strategic initiatives at Kansas State University Salina, stopped by KSN News at Noon on Monday to share how the university is training the next generation and helping close the gap.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a shortfall of more than 13,000 aircraft mechanics over the next 10 years. Regan says K-State Salina — a campus focused on aviation and technology — has offered aviation technical education for more than 60 years.
