According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 4-year-old boy perished in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 5:35 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at the intersection of US Highway 84 and County Road 464 in Coleman County.

The preliminary report states a 2024 Nissan Versa passenger car, driven by 27-year-old Michelle Warden Callisto of Burnet, was traveling south on US 84 at an unsafe speed, given the wet roadway conditions. As a result, the driver veered off the roadway to the west and overturned, eventually coming to rest upright.

A 4-year-old rear passenger was ejected during the crash and, unfortunately, died. A 3-year-old rear passenger was not listed as injured in the DPS report, while the driver suffered minor injuries. Both male passengers were children of the driver, and were re
