YOUNGSTOWN The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley (CFMV) awarded over $170,000 to recipients in 17 different high schools, according to a Monday news release.

The awarded scholarships total $173,924 and will benefit 95 students from across the Mahoning Valley.

According to the release, 124 awards were made from 29 different scholarship funds in the year of 2025.

The scholarships aim to provide critical support as the students pursue colleges and universities across the country.

"Education opens doors to future success, and these scholarships reflect our community's commitment to supporting young people as they pursue their goals," said Shawntae Burton, Philanthropic Services Director of the CFMV, who oversees the scholarship program.
