STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities removed 50 firearms from the streets of Staten Island at a gun buyback event held Saturday at Christ Assembly Lutheran Church in Stapleton.
The “no questions asked” Cash for Guns program, organized by the NYPD and Richmond County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon, collected 25 revolvers, 17 semi-automatic pistols, one assault weapon, four rifles and three other weapons, which included BB guns, pellet guns, air guns and replicas, according to a spokesperson for McMahon.
