LAKE CITY, Fla. — The Lake City Police Department says that three people have been arrested in connection with a string of armed home invasions over the summer.
LCPD says that between Aug. 19 and 31, police and deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office responded to three home invasions with striking similarities.
The first invasion, reported on Tuesday, Aug. 19, occurred at an apartment complex on SW Zesty Circle. Victims told responding officers that two masked men, wearing black clothing and holding handguns, forced entry into their apartment unit after yelling "sheriff's office." Police say that an iPhone 14 and cash were taken before the suspects fled.
According to LCPD, a similar situation occurred on Thursday, Aug. 28, at an apartment complex on NW Huntsboro Street. That
