It turns out the Eagles, and their fans, have a heart after all.

Giants dynamic rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a horrifying ankle injury in the second quarter of the Eagles’ 38-20 win over the G-Men yesterday. The 70,000 fans at Lincoln Financial Field fell silent as the medical cart emerged to take Skattebo off the field. As he exited the field, Skattebo gave a thumbs-up, and he legions of fans responded with a standing ovation.

Because of the significance of the dislocation and the fracture, Skattebo was taken for emergency surgery at Penn Presbyterian Hospital here in Philadelphia, rather than travel back to North Jersey.
