It will cost drivers 50 per cent more in the new year to park in Downtown Belleville following council approval Monday of a first phase of a Comprehensive Parking Study to modernize traffic flows and revenues.
Council gave the go-ahead to implement parking increases to ensure that going forward users pay for maintenance and city parking enforcement staff rather than costs being picked up by the general taxpayer.

The decision gives the green light to a first of three phases of the city’s Comprehensive Parking Study, initiated in early 2024, and conducted by Paradigm Transportation Solutions Limited.
