Hurricane Melissa became a Category 5 hurricane on Monday, and the U.S. Air Force Reserve is among the agencies keeping an eye on the storm.
On Sunday and Monday, as the storm was approaching Jamaica, the U.S. Air Force Reserve's 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, known as the “Hurricane Hunters," had been monitoring the storm by flying into the eye of the storm. The unit has released a video showing what it looks like inside the storm.

The 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, which is part of the 403rd Wing located at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, "is a one-of-a-kind organization," according to the website for the Hurricane Hunters. T he
