MANCHESTER, Conn. — The Office of the Inspector General released body camera video Monday after an exchange of gunfire between a Manchester police officer and a driver on Interstate 84 west.

At 1:42 a.m. Saturday, a Manchester police officer was conducting a traffic stop on Center Street on a Lexus Sedan for an alleged misuse of a marker plate. The driver of the Lexus, who police later identified as Samuel Lee, 39, took off and almost hit another police cruiser at the scene, Inspector General Eliot Prescott said in a report.

Several Manchester police officers pursued Lee, who at times drove at 70 miles per hour to escape the police, the report said.
