Australian motorsport legend Marcos Ambrose has landed a new role just days after going public with a two-year cancer battle that culminated in life-saving surgery .
The 49-year-old, now healthier after a full liver transplant 12 months ago, has joined the Australian Auto-Sport Alliance as its national competition and commercial director.
The position was carved out specifically to bring Ambrose into the fold after years spent managing teams and, more recently, the AASA’s Formula Ford Stars and Renegades series.
Ambrose, whose daughter Tabitha is following in his footsteps as a racer, said his experience as “a fan, competitor, team owner and grumpy dad” will help him in the gig.
