Power was finally restored after the lights went out at Hancock College and area southward for several hours Saturday.

When the lights came back on at the Hancock College football stadium at the start of the second half, Hancock's rout of county rival Santa Barbara had already long since gathered steam.

The Bulldogs pounded out a 47-6 in a Northern League game and moved their record to 4-4, 3-2). The Vaqueros fell to 0-8, 0-5.

They didn't break the school single game rushing record of 522 yards Saturday, but the Bulldogs did rack up 476 yards on 61 carries. Hancock led 24-0 at halftime.

The overwhelming win left Hancock's prospects for its fourth straight bowl game pretty straightforward - if the Bulldogs win the next two, they're in. If they split, their prospects are less sunny.
