A 25-year-old pregnant woman was taken to the Campbell County Health emergency room after her car was hit by a drunken driver Saturday night.

Police Deputy Chief Brent Wasson said that when police responded to calls about a two-car crash in the 4300 block of Butler-Spaeth Road, the 25-year-old’s 2014 GMC pickup was found resting on its driver’s side in the northbound ditch. The woman was taken from the pickup by her 27-year-old husband.

The other car, a 2003 Jeep, was found in the northbound traffic lane with severe damage. The driver, a 56-year-old man, told police he was too drunk to be driving, and said he’d had 10 to 11 beers throughout the night.
