MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Monona Police Department is searching for an at-large suspect after a car chase, officials said Monday.

The chase happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday after an officer clocked the vehicle driving 75mph in a 45mph zone.

After the driver pulled into a parking lot in the 6500 block of Monona Drive, the officer noticed “unusual movement” inside the car and waited for backup before approaching.

While waiting for backup, officials say that the officer received information from the McFarland Police Department that the car was “associated with a suspect who had recently fled from law enforcement and was still at large”.
