MADISON (WKOW) -- City of Madison officials reported significant reductions in crime for 2025. Police Chief John Patterson said the city has seen a 16% drop in overall crime compared with the three-year average from 2022 to 2024.
"With data-informed decision making and increasing collaborative efforts, we're seeing impressive results," Patterson said at a news conference Monday. "As a new chief, it's a great pleasure to share. This approach has been very impactful, reflecting deeper collaborations with Public Health, the Fire Department through the CARES team, and the Madison School District."
