The knives are out for Ward 3 Coun. Angela Caputo for comments she posted on Facebook in regard to Charlie Kirk, the right wing activist and podcaster who was assassinated on Sept. 10.

Four people have registered complaints with the city’s integrity commissioner, Antoinette Blunt, and she has begun an investigation at an estimated cost of $15,000.

As well, more than 2,500 citizens have signed a petition calling for Caputo to resign.

All this has led Caputo to refer to the matter as a witch-hunt.

I wouldn’t go as far as to use this Trumpism boilerplate to describe what she is going through.

But I certainly have some questions to add to the mix.

First off, why is the integrity commissioner even involved in what, simply stated, is a matter of free speech?
