KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - With the Kansas City Chiefs finally getting a hang of their younger, faster receiving core, a throwback performance remained the story Monday night. A pair of touchdowns from 30-year-old running back Kareem Hunt and another drive punctuated by 36-year-old tight end Travis Kelce helped the Chiefs beat the Commanders.
After the older portion of the Chiefs skill position players gave them a comfortable lead, Mahomes found third-year wide receiver Rashee Rice for another score, giving Kansas City a 28-7 advantage that would prove to be the final tally.
The win, Kansas City’s fifth in its last six games, sets the stage for an AFC Championship Game rematch against the Bills next Sunday.
