PASCO, Wash. – New details have emerged about the deadly shooting at the King City Truck Stop in Pasco. The suspect, Gilbert Lopez, 21, is in jail after being charged with second-degree murder.
Lopez is currently being held at the Franklin County Courthouse and Jail on a $1 million bond. According to court documents, Lopez and the victim, Javier Romero, were coworkers at the local Amazon facility. Witnesses reported that the two had several arguments at work.
One witness stated that on the morning of the shooting, Romero asked Lopez to fight outside. However, Lopez suggested they meet at the gas station instead.
Later that morning, Lopez and a coworker went to the truck stop for lunch when Romero arrived. The affidavit claims Lopez stayed in his truck, and when Romero approached, Lopez
