Missing drug tests leads to a third arrest of woman accused of negligence in Killeen baby’s death

A Bell County woman was arrested for a third time on a first-degree felony charge after the judge found repeated violations of her bond conditions.

Katherine Jo Rainer, 26, who also is known as Katherine Locke, and co-defendant Bryan Adam Rainer, 23, each were indicted by a Bell County grand jury on Dec. 13, 2023, on two counts of injury to a child following the death of their child in 2022.

According to Killeen police, severe malnourishment was the cause of the death of 5-month-old Alexandra Faith Rainer, who police said weighed less when she died than when she was born.

The Temple resident was booked into the Bell County Jail on Friday, after a local district court judge found her bond to be insufficient and upped it to $400,000. She remained in custody on Monday.
