A New Jersey man was being held without bond in the Bell County Jail on Wednesday after being sentenced to years behind bars for a child sex felony that occurred in Killeen.

Taquaan Peace of Newark, N.J., was indicted by a Bell County grand jury on Oct. 27, 2021, on a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault of a child. The public grand jury report did not list his name because he had not yet been arrested. The 36-year-old was booked into the county jail on Nov. 26, 2024.

Peace, who has aliases of Hope, Colin and McGivney, also spells his name Tyquan or Tyquaan, jail records show.

During a hearing on Monday in the 264th Judicial District Court, Peace pleaded guilty to a lesser and included charge of indecency with a child by contact. Judge Paul LePak then found him guilty and sente
