Kyle Pierson has had Tuesday circled on his calendar for a long, long time.
It marks the first time Kyle, a redshirt freshman for the Michigan soccer team, gets to play a game against his brother, Drew, a junior at Detroit Mercy. The teams play at 7 p.m. in Ann Arbor.
It also marks the latest mile marker on an emotional journey for the twin brothers, after Kyle battled and beat testicular cancer last year. Kyle, Mr. Soccer in Michigan at Detroit Catholic Central, is playing his first season for the Wolverines following a redshirt season his first year, and after he missed all of last year after undergoing cancer surgery and multiple rounds of grueling, draining treatment.
