HOOVER, Ala. —
The neighbors in Hoover had a special reception at city hall Monday night to say goodbye to the outgoing mayor. You’ll recall Mayor Frank Brocato lost his re-election campaign in August to police chief Nick Derzis.
Brocato stepped into the role of mayor in 2016. With new leadership stepping into city hall, Brocato said he’s looking forward to the next chapter in his life while thinking about his own journey.
After nine years of service leading the city as its top official, Monday marked the last day of his administration, but his time as a servant leader started long before then — 51 years ago.
