A Category 5 Monster About to Hit

Hurricane Melissa is so strong that it already ranks toward the top in many categories for Atlantic hurricanes. The hurricane strengthened into a category 5 on Monday and showed no signs of slowing down Monday night.

The forecast calls for the storm to hit Jamaica early Tuesday on the western side of the island. For reference, Jamaica is about 140 miles wide. The eye wall is less than half of that size and will focus its power on the west.
