Emma Stone has nothing but nice things to say about her longtime friend and fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence .

The 36-year-old Bugonia star was interviewed as part of an in-depth profile piece on Jennifer for The New Yorker and praised her friend’s acting prowess.

“She just becomes it, like a child actor. The circumstance around you is real. Be in it. That’s what everybody wishes they could do,” Emma explained.

Later in the piece, she mentions a theater adage, how if an actor is across from a cat on-stage, most of the audience will watch the cat.

“The audience would watch the cat,” she explained, “because it’s going to respond genuinely in the moment, while the actors are still acting. It’s that quality. Jen ’s the cat.”
