Two men were arrested in Cedar City on Sunday after they allegedly waited 12 hours to report an early-morning vehicle crash in the Three Peaks Recreation Area.
According to a news release issued Monday by Iron County Sheriff’s Cpl. Charles Day, the initial incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday, when deputies responded to the Three Peaks area to a report of a traffic accident with injuries.
“It was reported that the driver had fled the scene and was advising witnesses not to report the accident,” the news release states. “Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle that had crashed into a tree and was unoccupied.”
