South Sydney star Keaon Koloamatangi has revealed Wayne Bennett pushed him to play on the Kangaroos’ Ashes tour, despite needing surgery that’ll sideline him for three months.

Koloamatangi is no stranger to the representative arena, having played for Tonga in the 2022 World Cup in England.

But being selected for the Australian national team for the first time was a dream come true for 27-year-old Rabbitohs enforcer.

And that dream could only be fulfilled by delaying surgery until he returns to Australia after the tour, something that was endorsed by Souths coach Bennett.
