India’s 31-year old batter, Shreyas Iyer took a magnificent catch running backwards and dismissed Alex Carey but as soon as he landed on ground he hurt his left rib and the injury turned about to be very serious. He was recently made the vice-captain of India in ODI format after he opted for a break from red-ball cricket as he is already struggling with back issues. This new injury again comes as a big concern, considering India will be playing three-match ODI series against South Africa starting from November 30.

Following this severe injury, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav provided an update about Iyer’s health and explained that initially he didn’t have phone but once his condition stabilized he has been replying and recovering.
