WATERFORD, NY (NEWS10) -- The Waterford-Halfmoon and Loudonville Christian boys soccer teams met in the Class C Quarterfinals on Monday. Not only was it a battle of two top 15 teams in the state in Class C, It was a rematch of last year's Section Championship game, which Loudonville Christian won. This year, the Fordians got their revenge.
With just over 6 minutes to go in the first half, Sophomore Captain Payton Galuski broke through for Waterford-Halfmoon on a penalty kick. She scored her second goal of the game just 22 seconds later, and completed the hat trick in the second half. The Fordians advanced to the semifinals with a 4-0 win.
Waterford-Halfmoon will take on Maple Hill in the semifinals on Wednesday at 7:30 PM at Columbia High School.
