Socceroos coach Tony Popovic will use friendlies against Colombia and Venezuela to test and develop inexperienced players ahead of the World Cup in the US.

The Socceroos only have windows in November and March left before heading into camp in June.

Australia will face Venezuela on November 15 (AEDT) in Houston, Texas then Colombia in Queens, New York on November 19 (AEDT) - two of the host cities for next year's finals.

Popovic was delighted with how defender Jacob Italiano and goalkeeper Paul Izzo had quickly settled at international level against Canada and the United States and wants more.
