AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot his girlfriend on Monday morning, according to authorities.

The shooting happened on the 2900 block of Ulm Road around 8:45 a.m., according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

While on scene, deputies say they located a 38-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot wound to her right leg.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says it has identified a person of interest in connection with the South Carolina State University campus shootings.

The victim was transported to Wellstar MCG for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
