A new luxury salon may open in Edinburgh city centre , according to plans put before the City Council.

Townhouse, a company which runs high-end nail salons, may soon open another branch in the capital.

Plans have been submitted for the shop to be installed at St James Quarter at 5 St James Square. The salon would occupy Unit 3.37 within the mall and open onto the square.

Documents outline plans for access from the St James plaza area to the interior salon. The building would include a check-in area, waiting area, pedicure and polish areas, and store rooms.

The brand operates a number of locations across the UK, including one at 66 Morningside Road as well as in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, and more.

Their website indicates the St James Quarter location is "coming soon".
