FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A mother and daughter were arrested Friday evening after a domestic disturbance turned violent in Layland, Fayette County.

According to the West Virginia State Police, Senior Trooper Ferris responded to a call from the Fayette County 911 Center at approximately 4:54 p.m. on October 24, 2025, regarding a domestic incident on Raynes Hollow Road.

When Trooper Ferris arrived, he found a person rendering aid to Ann Raynes-Calvert, who had sustained a head injury. Raynes-Calvert told the trooper that her daughter, Haylei Mathis, had attacked her.

Trooper Ferris detained Mathis and provided medical assistance to Raynes-Calvert, who reported that her daughter had hit and bitten her during the altercation. Raynes-Calvert also claimed Mathis had been drinking alco
