Heavy Rain, Gusty Wind Likely In Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & 4 Odisha Dists By This Evening, Orange Alert By IMD

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain coupled with thunderstorm and gusty wind is likely to lash at least four districts, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities, on Tuesday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.

In a message issued at 2.45 pm, the IMD sounded an orange warning for in Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts. ADVERTISEMENT

Moderate thunderstorm accompanied by wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph, lightning and moderate to heavy rain may hit these districts in next three hours.

Under its impact, minor damage to loose and unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops may occur.
