An email from mark@markmerwitzer.com was sent recently to Miami’s Community Newspapers and presumably other media outlets, as well to Palmetto Bay residents, regarding the village’s iBus.

That email said, in part, “When I was in high school, I’d wake up at 5:45 in the morning to catch the bus and train to get to and from school. That early morning commute gave me access to a program that allowed me to graduate with an AA degree, something I never would have achieved without it. In the summertime, I took the iBus every day to intern at County Hall, where I learned about local government.”

The email went on to describe his daily rides and how he wanted to transform his community for the better.
