LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Beginning Tuesday, Louisville Metro Council members will hear the public's thoughts on how data centers should be permitted.
There are plans to use more than 150 acres in Louisville for Kentucky's first large-scale data center.
It would be located on Camp Ground Road, just west of Shively. The site is expected to be in use by late 2026.
When it becomes fully operational, it’s expected to consume about one-third of the power currently used across all of Jefferson County.
There's no word yet on which tech company will be the tenant for the center.
Tuesday will be the first community input meeting. It will be at Locust Grove on Blankenbaker Lane from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The second meeting will be Wednesday at the Southwest Regional Library from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
