PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles rediscovered their identity in Week 8 on both sides of the ball, winning 38-20 against the New York Giants on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

Even better, one of the Eagles’ biggest weaknesses suddenly looked like a strength and could become a real force after the Week 9 bye.

Through the first seven weeks , Philadelphia’s edge rushers struggled to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks. Nolan Smith was hurt, Jalyx Hunt got off to a slow start and no one else really stood out.

Smith is expected to come back after the bye, but he’s not the only reason things are looking up.
