LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)-- State Representative Gina Johnsen (R-Portland) will testify before the House Oversight Committee for the public hearing on the proposed Michigan Health Education Standards Framework.

According to Rep. Johnsen, "the legislation "calls on the Michigan Department of Education and the State Board of Education to reject the proposed Health Education Standards Framework. "The proposal embeds ideological content into required instruction, raising serious concerns about transparency, legality, and parental choice."

Rep. Johnsen added that members of the State Board of Education have also been invited to testify.
