LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Mayor Andy Schor joined developers Tuesday to announce the redevelopment of a property in south Lansing.
The $3.8 million development would open a shopping center at 820 W. Miller Road, which has been vacant since 2015. The proposal, approved by City Council earlier this year, would include a restaurant, an event venue and a laundromat.
Schor said he discovered this project four years ago while knocking on doors for his re-election campaign. As he tells the story, Schor knocked on the developers' door and they immediately started talking about plans for this space.
“They are not the traditional children of children of developers,” Schor said. “They are tremendous citizens.”
Developers James Denning and Melissa White bought the 12,200 square foot property in 2021
