A new pipeline is in the works to transport petroleum from Texas to Arizona and California.
The Western Gateway Pipeline, announced by Phillips 66 Pipeline and Kinder Morgan , will run from the Texas panhandle through Arizona to Southern California, and is meant to "enhance energy reliability and address growing demand across the West," said a Phillips 66 news release on Oct. 22.
The pipeline would also cross into the Kinder Morgan El Paso Terminal, as well as in Tucson and Phoenix, according to a map shared by Phillips 66.
The proposed Western Gateway project combines new and existing infrastructure to "create an efficient and scalable corridor that addresses growing Arizona demand and anticipated California supply constraints," Phillips 66 shared in its news release.
